New FO for December

2014 NewFO Challenge

Happy New Year Everyone!

I didn't want to miss Cat Patches last FO Challenge for the year, so although not much sewing is done around here in December I did manage to make a quick quilt. This one literally haunted me and demanded to be made, so here it is

After making quilts for other people for Christmas, I felt like there wasn't any creativity left in me, but this one kept flashing in my head before I would fall asleep.

I even knew exactly what fabrics I wanted to use

Straight line quilting in the paths and leafy vines in the white parts.

I call it my dream quilt, it calls itself Garden Paths. Fast, easy and pretty, I want more of these in 2014.

Please visit Barbara over at Cat Patches and check out the final FO Challenge for 2013

Later Gators,

  1. Absolutely love your quilt! Isn't it weird when something gets in your head. Usually when you make it, it is great! Happy 2014! ~Jeanne

  2. Quilt Haunting - that project you saw that you just can't get out of your head until you start it? Nags at you constantly "the perfect fabric is right there" ?Congrats on the finish, the quilt if beautiful!

  3. Beautiful !~! I love when a design comes and won't go and you just have to knuckle under to that creative imagination and go for it. You've made a very neat quilt here. A true garden delight.

  4. Wow, that is absolutely gorgeous. You have such a good eye for color!

  5. Dana! you can pull fabrics and colors like no other!!! I LOVE this one and that quilting is amazing!!!

  6. Wow, Dana :) I just love what you did for yourself! I get it about a quilt idea haunting you. Your execution of it is marvelous. And I love the two names!

  7. Oh, it's so pretty! I love your colors. Sadly, I didn't have time to do any sewing in December, so I won't be linking up to Cat patches. Congrats on your lovely quilt!

  8. That is so pretty! Did you name it "Quilt Haunting" or something else?

  9. Absolutely spectacular quilt design, colors/prints and FMQ. Great job. I sure hope you turn this design into a pattern for sale. I think it would be very popular. Love it!
